Music and the Arts are a part of the National Education Goals and recognized as core curriculum. San Diego Unified School District's Pull-out Instrumental Music program is taught twice a week in the uppermost grade levels of their respective elementary school, introduces students to basic musical concepts such as musical notation, pitch and rhythmic concepts, and music appreciation. The Pull-out Instrumental Music Program gives hands-on training to students on their choice of seven different music instruments: flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, violin, viola, cello. Each week, I will visit each school site for this enriching program. All students are able to participate regardless of financial ability. I am confident it will help encourage your children to consider participating in music programs as they enter middle school and high school, as well as generating interest and appreciation for the Arts as a whole.
